COE’s Christina Harrison featured in Spectrum News 1 Special
UCLA Prevention Center of Excellence curriculum developer, Christina Harrison, sat down with Spectrum News 1, along with other professionals to share tips, programs, and organizations that are providing mental health support for communities in LA. Christina discussed vicarious trauma, the importance of checking in with yourself, and how to design a plan when you are feeling negatively affected by media consumption.
Christina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received their Master in Social Welfare degree from UCLA. Social welfare posits that an individual’s well-being and growth is inextricably connected to the overall wellness of the communities and organizations they are a part of, and vice versa; this framework perfectly captures Christina’s approach to work, as well as life.
